The Pacific food industry is moving forward!
Across the Pacific, food producers, manufacturers, exporters and hospitality businesses are increasingly focusing on HACCP, food safety certification and export readiness as they look to meet market requirements and build buyer confidence.
Fiji – Growing Opportunities
Fiji remains an important hub for food production and export, with businesses across food manufacturing, processing, agriculture, seafood and hospitality looking to expand their capabilities and reach new markets.
A recent example is the Fiji Meat Industry Board (FMIB), which has achieved HACCP Australia certification as part of its focus on strengthening food safety standards and supporting future export opportunities. The achievement demonstrates how robust HACCP systems can help Pacific businesses build buyer confidence and strengthen their readiness for regional and international markets.

The Fiji Meat Industry Board (FMIB) officially achieved internationally recognised HACCP Australia Certification in May 2026, with the formal handover announced on July 17, 2026.
Through our work with Business Link Pacific (BLP), HACCP Australia continues to provide practical support to Pacific businesses seeking to develop and implement effective HACCP and food safety systems.
PNG – Supporting the Hotel Industry
HACCP Australia was recently proud to support the development and implementation of its CCP Food Safety Programme® within the PNG hotel industry, with The Crown Hotel taking an important step towards improving its food safety practices.
The CCP Food Safety Programme® provides a practical approach for hospitality businesses to identify and manage key food safety risks while building staff awareness and stronger day-to-day practices.
Congratulations to The Crown Hotel team on this important achievement!
Wider Pacific
The opportunities extend across the wider Pacific, with businesses in Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu continuing to build capability and improve their readiness for regional and international markets.
For Pacific businesses, HACCP is more than a compliance requirement — it can open doors to new customers, new markets and greater confidence in Pacific-made products.
We look forward to continuing to work with businesses across the region and supporting the growth of a stronger, safer and more competitive Pacific food industry.
