Building South Australia’s Premium Food and Wine Credentials Grant Program – Non-GM and Organic Grants

South Australia is the only mainland State of Australia that prohibits the cultivation of GM food crops. South Australia’s non-GM status can provide our agricultural, food and wine producers a point of difference in the global marketplace.  Recently, the University of Adelaide was commissioned to undertake a research project to investigate and determine the market opportunities for South Australian non-GM food products.  Trends in this report indicate growing global demand for non-genetically modified foods, which provides significant opportunities for South Australia and associated food and beverage businesses. Recall: the first online recall portal to be certified by HACCP Australia

GS1 Australia has received certification from HACCP Australia for Recall – an electronic product recall notification management system designed to minimise the impact and cost of food and beverage products recalled and withdrawn from the supply chain. New food labelling system gets the nod

By the end of the year shoppers will be able to see on supermarket labels how much of their food products are Australian grown and made. The new system, which was proposed last year and signed off on Thursday by federal, state and territory ministers, uses the familiar green and gold kangaroo and a triangle, with a bar chart showing how much of the product was made or grown domestically.
