May 2022 saw the gathering in Sydney, of the HACCP Australia technical team for a two-day conference in what they term ‘The Jamboree’. The Jamboree provides the opportunity for staff from all sectors of the business to share information, calibrate their operations and cross fertilise ideas between the team.

HACCP Australia Director, Martin Stone says, “Apart from the geographical location of a number of our team, COVID has served to isolate our staff from each other ….. for our team, this is not a good thing. We have been unable to gather the team in one place for several years so we really wanted to push ahead with this opportunity”.

Our staff travelled from all over Australia, and the event held at an iconic location at Sydney’s Darling Harbour. The Jamboree featured technical presentations from each of the staff and robust discussions on relevant technical and operational matters affecting our industry. “The strength of our organisation lies in the staff members and when combined in a group, that strength is a lot more than the simple sum of the parts”, said Mr Stone. “But it’s not all hard work”, Mr Stone adds, “we take time for socialising at dinners and also some team sports like 10-pin bowling !”.

“Now with COVID impacts becoming reduced, we hope to make these events as regular as they were in the past”.
